Short Bio
Gerry Cobb currently serves as Director of Smart Start's National Technical Assistance Center. The Center was conceived and implemented by her in 2001 to assist communities and states in the development, implementation and integration of comprehensive, community-based early childhood initiatives. the expertise provided by the Center is based upon twelve years of experience and lessons learned in the development and implementation of North Carolina's Smart Start's Initiative. Resources available through the Center include intensive technical assistance, consultation and referral, resource materials, a speaker's bureau, and site visits to Smart Start-related programs. Prior to launching the Center, Ms. Cobb served as Smart Start's Development Director for five years and as Executive Director of the American Council of Young Political Leaders for nearly seven years. She brings a broad array of experience in nonprofit management and political advocacy to her work with the Center.
