Short Bio

Barbara Gault is Vice President and Director of Research at the Institute for Women's Policy Research, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to informing debates affecting women and their families. Dr. Gault holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She has directed and developed IWPR's research on the cost of preschool, child care worker wages, and family child care, and has authored publications on a range of issues related to women's well-being, including on access to education and training for low-income women, women's political participation, and on work/life politicizes. Before joining IWPR, Dr. Gault conducted research at the Office of Children's Health Policy Research in Philadelphia and at Temple University Medical School.
